Why People Become Friends.

A few months ago, there was an issue at work regarding this girl and I. Everything's fine now, but I just remembered one thing they told me when we were trying to resolve the issue.

"Kayo ni C*******, kaya kayo naging magkaibigan kasi pareho kayo mahilig mag make-up." (You and C******* are friends because you both use make-up.")

Is it me, or is there something wrong with this statement?

I don't think friendship is that shallow. People don't become friends just because they're both bitches, or beautiful, or kind. Agree?

Friendships don't just rely on material things, or popularity, or status in life. It's innate. Friendship should always start from the heart. It is felt. It's never chosen consciously.

Friendship is like love. There should be no reason for friendship. It's as it is. Friends become friends because of unknown reasons people feel toward each other.

So NO, C****** and I are friends not because we like make-up. Sure we enjoy the same things, but that's not the reason why I like her. We are friends just because we are.

So YOU. Yes you. If we are friends, it's not because I want something from you. It's not because I want what you have, or envy you in everything. It's not because you're popular, and I'm a loser. It's not because you're beautiful and I'm ugly...

You're my friend because you are. No questions asked.

*Disclaimer: This is not to be taken in a negative way. It's just something I remembered and wanted to point out.
